One Match, One Moment, One Promo:
January 16-19, 2026

We’re another week into the new year, and that means it’s time for another entry of your favorite blog’s favorite blog.
There’s a lot of news this week, most of which is recapping moments from the new season of WWE Unreal season 2. I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, but the clips are everywhere so I don’t want to repeat it all, so let’s just move to this week’s shows.
One Match
After taking the top promo last week, Finn Balor makes his return in my blog for his match with CM Punk. Everything about this match made it deserving.
Finn Balor came out to his old theme with the crowd clearly behind him. CM Punk was getting booed as Balor put on a show in the ring. The start of the match was pure wrestling before it broke down and they started to really go at it. I knew they wouldn’t put the belt on Finn, but he looked stronger than he has in a while, kicking out of a GTS and getting a near fall after landing the Coup de Grace. Give me more of this Finn Balor going forward.
One Moment
There were a lot of great moments this past week, but this viral clip is way, way too good to pass up.
Kit Wilson is too fucking good in this remodeled gimmick. I love my girlie pop, and his entrance music is fantastic. The timing going from aggressive beat down on Cardona to flashing right back to his own entrance was impeccable. Give this man a title and let him run through the roster. I don’t even care if he’s a champion or he just shows up with the Diva’s Championship he posted a clip on socials with. Fan-fucking-tastic.
One Promo
Cody Rhodes did it again. He came out to declare for the Royal Rumble and he was met with loud boos before the crowd chanted for Drew McIntyre. By the end of the promo, Cody turned it around and had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hands.
The promo both set him up for his chase for the championship, hoping to tie a Royal Rumble record set by Stone Cold, and furthered his story with Jacob Fatu. Cody is incredible on the mic, and he turns a run-of-the-mill promo into magic just by being himself. The American Nightmare is truly undeniable, and his quest for a third WWE title reign is going to be so good to watch. His first journey gave us great matches against Brock Lesnar, Dominik Mysterio and Shinsuke Nakamura. Now we’re starting his new arc with Jacob Fatu. The future is in good hands.
Honorable Mentions
Natalya turned on Maxxine Dupri! I love Maxxine, but Natalya is the BOAT. I don’t think I expected this turn (at least not yet), but I’m beyond excited to see a more aggressive Nattie on WWE television.
The crowd cheering for Finn Balor almost made it as the “One Moment” just because I love Finn so much. He deserves love for all the hard work he puts in
Roxanne Perez and Liv Morgan are absolutely perfect together. I know it’s going to happen at some point, but I don’t want to see them split up yet. Let the two of them and Dom break off from the Judgment Day and be a trio that steals the spotlight every week.
Drew McIntyre killed it with his promo. He’s so good at being hated.
That’s it for another week of WWE. The next couple weeks will be filled with bonus content, since we’ll have Saturday Night’s Main Event and the Royal Rumble to talk about. Be sure to find me on Twitter @darkstarshady to argue with me about which spots you think were better than my picks.
