What's gravy y'all? The Great Brown Hope here. You're either on the gravy train or you're not, either way, keep on gravyin' along baby. Gather round y'all, and welcome to the official debut of THE BLOG WORLD ORDER!

(TGBH) THE Blog World Order is the newest tag team on the blog scene and such. The Great Brown Hope and Paperclip Mike will be tagging it up on paper with piles upon piles of words. For our debut edition, we will be giving our Backlash 2025 predictions.

(PCM) Am I looking forward to Backlash? Yes, seems to be a decent card. Is it like some of the non-Big 4 PLEs and somewhat predictable? Also, yes. Now, I for one do enjoy the smaller number of matches as of late. We can get more time on the matches we have and make them seem more important for the story if the said match makes the PPV. And in doing this, we really don’t see a bad match on this card. So, I hope this trend continues in the quality of matches and storytelling.

Let's get to it y'all!

PRE-GAME WITH BWO : BACKLASH 2025

Pat McAfee VS. Gunther

(PCM) For me, even though it has a predictable ending, there is more layers to it than it seems. On one hand, I have been a fan of Gunther/Walter for a long time, since WXW in Germany. And after a lackluster world title reign and back-to-back WrestleMania title losses. Also, on the other hand, I am a Pat McFee fan. I admire him as a person and how he got where he is today.  And also in the story, this match makes sense with Pat defending his good friend, Michael Cole. But with Gunther needing a big win to get back in the main event scene, this is not it. With no disrespect to Pat, this is a no-win. If Gunther wins, he beat a color commentator. If he loses, he lost to a color commentator. In saying this, Gunther needs to win this.

PaperclipMike's Pick:

Gunther

The Great Brown Hope's Pick:

Gunther via Knock-Out

Dirty Dominik Mysterio(c) VS. Penta

IC Heavyweight Championship Match

(TGBH) What can I say about Dirty Dom that I haven't already sung praises for? A truly gifted athlete and valuable asset, Dirty Dominik just gets better and better every time he steps in the ring. On the other hand you have another veteran of the game whose popularity has skyrocketed since debuting on the red brand. Penta is as charismatic as he is skilled, swift as he is efficient, and crisp as he stays consistent. Penta is just as gifted and talented as Dominik and now they will come to a head for one of the most prestigious championships in the world of wrestling. While Penta is possibly the favorite, there is still a possibility he may team up with Fenix again. And if they plan to pull the trigger on teaming them together now is the time. The Young Dirty Bastard Dominik Mysterio picks up the win after hitting a Frog Splash to the uproar of the masses in attendance.

The Great Brown Hope's Pick:

Dirty Dominik Mysterio via Pinfall

PaperClipMike's Pick:

Dirty Dominik Mysterio

Lyra Valkyria(c) VS. Becky Lynch

Women’s IC Championship Match

(PCM) I feel bad for Lyra. While she was not my choice to win the women’s IC title tournament, she has done the best she can to represent the title. As we saw with the WrestleMania 41 card, WWE does not seem to care about the IC title either. I am also not a fan of how they brought Becky back to WWE. Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Becks, always have been. But in doing this, you purposely left off one of your best female wrestlers on the roster from WrestleMania. And did a title change to just drop it back to the previous champs a day later. Why not have the original team of Bayley and Lyra still be in the match, have Becky come out and cause them to lose? You accomplished everything you needed to and still got Bayley on the card. Rant aside, this one is going to Becky. Nothing against Lyra, but this title needs a bigger name to give it prestige, something it is sorely lacking.

PaperclipMike's Pick:

Becky Lynch

The Great Brown Hope's Pick:

Lyra Valkyria via Pinfall

Jacob Fatu(c) VS. Damian Priest VS. LA Knight VS. Drew McIntyre

US Heavyweight Championship Match

(TGBH) Nah, for real though, this match just might be the one that steals the show. Priest and Drew Mac havs inserted themselves into the US Heavyweight Championship division, with Drew needing the belt to be Grand Slam Champions. Not From LA Knight could once be called the most popular and the favorite to win, but against a rising star like Jacob Fatu? Their last encounters were down the middle in the matter of folks picking who would win, but Fatu is going up against three of the biggest cats in the game. Fatu will truly be tested against two former World Heavyweight Champions, and Lake Arkansas Knight. Fatu will make his presence known by dominating against every foe in sight, on sight. If this were an elimination match, I'd book Fatu to eliminate each competitor himself. Fatu runs through the competition and pins LA Knight and everyone moves on to something else. Perhaps a new challenger enters the fold for Fatu's title.

The Great Brown Hope's Pick:

Jacob Fatu via Pinfall

Paperclip Mike's Pick:

Jacob Fatu via Pinfall

John Cena(c) VS. Randy Orton

Undisputed WWE Championship Match

(PCM) This match is one of the good things about the last year of John Cena. We are getting the ‘one final match’ for some of his biggest feuds, with this one near the top. I also like the wrinkles added to this to freshen it up. This is the first title match with a face Randy and a heel John. Also, with Randy being settled down and a family man added a nice touch. Plus, having this match in St. Louis is smart. This will ensure a huge pop for hometown boy Randy and massive boos for Cena. However, Randy has been doing the heavy lifting for this match, not that he isn’t capable; he very much is. But the statement that John only has so many appearances for the rest of the year kept us from getting more than a couple of moments between these two. Is this match going to cook? Absolutely. Is this match a foregone conclusion? Still yes. No way John Cena loses here.

(TGBH) This is it y'all. The Last Time is Now. And while I haven't forgotten folks used to bash the Orton vs Cena for being booked too many times, it's nice to see the appreciation folks have for this monumentous occassion. Having PLEs with limited matches allows for matches like this to receive premiere booking. But even with the crowd on Randy's side, it won't matter as Cena has stated he doesn't need the fans' support to keep his championship. This will be a match that's talked about for years to come and will be a staple in the halls of the greatest matches ever put together. Orton is not prepared for this Hate Embracing Cena and will have to dig deep to conquer his foe. But for those expecting Orton to walk out as champion are in for a huge disappointment. Cena retains after hitting one last F-U on Randy Orton and improves his record against Orton to 14-7. Kinda feels one sided, but Cena has always been portrayed and booked as the better of the two and that's not about to change. John Cena rides out of St. Louis the victor, One Last Time.

PaperclipMike's Pick:

John Cena

The Great Brown Hope's Pick:

John Cena via Pinfall
