Ay yo, what it do?! I truly hope this finds you well my friend. I truly hope life is going your way, and if not, we keep on pushing. You might not know it, but I'm rooting for ya. Afterall, I am a Hope dealer, not a dope dealer. As The Godfather said in the scriptures of pimpin', roll up a fatty for this pimp daddy.

Welcome back yall to a NEW!

ree

They say seeing is believing, but how can you believe a man you cannot see?

I hate to tell you this but it's actually happening. The Last Time is indeed Now, and now we're closing in on the day. What was once months has now turned into weeks, soon days, and then merely minutes. The anticipation alone may be enough to forgive some panicked booking of this retirement tour. For a legend is calling it a career and walking away on his own terms. Hailed as the Greatest of All Time, John Cena will have his last match on Saturday, December 14th of the year 2025. But who will be his final opponent?

ree

We've had Cena go up against Orton, Rhodes, and Punk, all written off as final encounters. But what's to say they won't find a way into this tournament to crown the person who will be The GOAT's last dance partner. And now, two matches havs been announced with Sheamus going up against Shinsuke Nakamura, and Rusev versus Damian Priest. With more to be announced, it is said that entrants in this tournament will be from all corners of the WWE Universe, and beyond. With some surprises up their sleeves for certain, all of these matches still carry that "big match" feel. You can expect some big names to enter this tournament.

And so it got me thinking, besides the obvious choices, who could show up and claim a spot in the tournament? I thought of one, then two, and then five. That's right, FIVE.

LETS GET TO IT YALL!!

BROWN'S FIVE AT 5

VOLUME 3 / ISSUE 7

FIVE SURPRISE ENTRANTS IN THE LAST TIME IS NOW TOURNAMENT

5.MUHAMMAD HASSAN

ree

When I said surprise entrants, I meant it. Muhammad Hassan was once on a hell of an undefeated streak en route to being one of the most disliked characters in the fed. Easy to hate for obvious reasons, even moreso when the crowd was trained to chant U-S-A everytime he spoke. Hassan has some unfinished business with John Cena, as Cena was the first one to successfully pin Hassan since his debut. Hassan can build a case as to why he deserves to be the one to retire John Cena and get his win back in the process. Could Hassan go the distance? Perhaps, but this tournament has plenty of spots to fill. I for one would love to see Hassan back for one more appearance, even if it's just on the microphone and taking a quick loss to a bigger competitor.

4.WADE BARRETT

ree

Here's another guy who has some historee with the man who cannot be seen. As this would be another match that wouldn't have happened during the tour, it's still up there in the realm of possibilities. Wade Barrett's career never fully recovered after his rivalry with Cena. Although successful in his own right with a decorated resume, Barrett never really got any closer to a Heavyweight Championship reign. Barrett could be a name that has alot to gain in defeating John Cena in his final battle, and would have to get through some pretty stiff competition. Even if it's a one-off, Barrett could enter this tournament and take on someone like Kofi Kingston or Drew McIntyre to get em over as they advance in the tournament. Barrett versus Cena would be a nice call back to a time where there was a chance Barrett could be the next top guy had he conquered his greatest foe.

3.CARLITO

ree

This tournament should be fun, so we're gonna need all the good apples we can get. Carlito is another name that can be thrown in the hat of cats that could get another go at Cena. On the night of his debut, Carlito defeated John Cena for the United States Heavyweight Championship. For that, he will always have Cena's number. How many other guys can say they beat Cena for one of his championships? Having recently been let go, there is always a chance they could give Carlito a call to come in and enter the tournament. No slouch in the ring, Carlito will take someone to their limit in a more serious atmosphere like this and can help prove his opponent has a chance to advance. We need star power in this tournament, and there's not alot of guys available from Cena's time.

2.BARON CORBIN

ree

That's right. I said it. Baron Corbin has already retired Kurt Angle, the man who was John Cena's first opponent. Retiring John Cena has a hell of a ring to it and will be another accolade in his already impressive list of accomplishments. Baron Corbin deserves another shot, for he was a star they built from the ground up and progressively showed flashes of greatness. Unappreciated by the masses as I sung his praises for what feels like a decade, Corbin has won over the IWC and could now make a welcome surprise return. Unlike the previous surprise entrants mentioned, Corbin is someone I can see win every match in this tournament to go on and face Cena in his final match. And with their previous encounters behind them, there's a storee to build here for Corbin to be taken as a serious threat. Corbin has duked it out with the best of them and at one point was the only person to have pinned Roman Reigns. If you're not gonna put a Heavyweight Championship on Baron Corbin, continue to build his resume as the one who retires legends. What better way to end Cena's days as a wrestler than with The End of Days?

1.JOSH BRIGGS

ree

Hear me out. The fed needs some new stars. And whilst Josh Briggs wouldn't be anyone's first pick to be a Heavyweight Champion, except maybe JGold of IWGuide and NXT Night Shift, there is a star to be made. Josh Briggs has been in NXT for some time now and has taken on the gatekeeper role that Dijak once had. And while the IWC wants it to Oba Femi, what is there that rules out Josh Briggs being the guy?

If anyone has historee with John Cena, it's JBL. Why does that matter? Well, at one point Josh Briggs received a video endorsement from JBL as someone to watch on NXT. They used that with Josh Briggs' character for a little while but didn't really take advantage of it. There can be a call back there with Josh Briggs being JBL's pick to fill a spot in the tournament. Briggs got game in the ring and will look well in place against superstars in the earlier rounds of the tournament as he makes his way to an appearance in the finals. Briggs can make a name for himself in what will likely be tournament filled with Cena's previous opponents and superstars of higher calibers looking to add the biggest of stocks to their portfolio. The NXT superstars already on their way to main roster have already made a name for themselves in the higher ranks and with the WWE universe. Josh Briggs could use a hell of a rub and recognition as he transitions to the next phase of his career. While anyone can benefit from simply entering the tournament, there is no one that could come out a bigger star than Josh Briggs.
