Welcome to the weekly Evolve on TUBI review, with your favorite office supply, PaperclipMike. Exciting things are happening as Evolve continues to…well, evolve. Big news on the WWE ID end. Everyone knows that there will be a WWE ID belt for both the men and the women. Also, the tournaments start Wrestlemania weekend on shows put on by GCW and FSW. On top of that, the title can be defended against any independent wrestler. And if the non-ID wrestler wins, they get an ID contract. There have also been rumors of new signees on top of that. So it looks like we may see a lot of new faces on Evolve soon! Anyway, let’s get to the action.

We get a cold open with ID tag team Swipe Right in a parking lot. And if it is anything like the NXT parking lot, they are very brave. IYKYK. Anyway, they talk about the match they had with Fraxiom, making a good showing even though they came up short. One thing I like about Swipe Right is how much they make you hate them. The amount of slang they use and the look of them reminds me of the d-bags in 80’s teen movies. Dig the presentation. We then open with a slick promo video for the main event between Kali Armstrong and Dani Palmer, who calls herself the ‘Bluegrass Badass”.

Riley Osborne vs. Javier Bernal

Both these men looking for their first win. Always been a fan of chain and counter wrestling, and this match does not disappoint. Interesting fact, Riley Osborne’s debut on NXT Lvl Up was a loss to Javier. Riley on a roll under a standing moonsault leads to knees to the gut. Bernal answers with a huge DDT. Bernal also answers with a huge superkick and a double underhook suplex for a close 2 count. Riley is able to fight back and land a stunning shooting star press for the win.

Winner: Riley Osborne

Javier is ringside, very distraught. Chuey Martinez hands him his jacket, to wich Bernals just drops it and walks away.

Haze Jameson is in the VIP area for our next match…

Draco Knox vs. Bryce Donovan

Bryce Donovan is a WWE ID member mainly known for his work in New England and the Northeast. Before the match starts, out come Swipe Right, Zayda Steel, and Jackson Drake. As Draco is surrounded out come Jack Cartwheel, Cappuccino Jones, AND Ice Williams to even the odds. As all eight men argue out comes Evolve commissioner Stevie Turner who turns this into an eight-man tag match, turning this into…

Draco Knox, Jack Cartwheel, Ice Williams, and Cappuccino Jones vs. Swipe Right, Jackson Drake, and Bryce Donovan.

If the last name Donovan sounds familiar to any old school wrestling fan, his grandfather is journeyman wrestler, Chick Donovan.

Jackson Drake and Draco Knox start off. In yet another great nickname, Jackson Drake is known as the “Carolina Reaper”. Knox lands a hard clothesline and tags in Jones. Jones is able to land an amazing dropkick. Drake finally tags in Ricky Smokes. Jack Cartwheel tags in with an amazing double-team move. Smokes tries to take over and eats a standing corkscrew moonsault. He can tag in Bryce Donovan who destroys Cartwheel with a sick clothesline.

Huge slams and elbows from. Donovan keeps the pressure in to tag in Brad Baylor. Baylor and Cartwheel start a chop battle until Baylor hits a lariat. Cartwheel tosses Baylor out as the heels retreat. All four faces are in the ring. Cappuccino gives Jack a shot of his coffee, hyping him up to land an insane Space Flying Tiger Drop wiping out the other team as we go to commercial.

Back from commercial Ice Williams is in there with Rickey Smokes. As Williams sizes up Smokes, he eats a clothesline from Bryce, leading to a tag to Brad Baylor. Jackson Drake enters and continues the pressure, including a powerbomb for two. Smokes comes back in, but quick tags to Donovan and Baylor keep a fresh man in. Ice is able to hit a clothesline to Smokes leading to a tag to Jackson Drake and a hot tag to Draco Knox.

Knox hits an Oklahoma Stampede for a close count, tagging in Jones. Jones then tags in Jack Cartwheel who lands a sidekick/half-and-half suplex combo, but the pin is broken up by Bryce Donovan. Draco hits a huge pump kick to Donovan, the first real big hit he took all match. Cartwheel look to do another tag team move to Baylor, but Zayda Steel gets on the apron to distract the referee. Smokes snacks in a hit a huge double-team movie on Cartwheel, but it is broken up by Ice Williams. Williams eats a spear from Smokes, who then takes an exploder suplex from Knox, who then eats a handstand cutter from Drake, who eats a spinning neckbreaker of sorts from Jones, who then lands a double underhook spinning slam from Baylor, who then is trapped in a small package from Cartwheel. Whew!

Cartwheel lands a cartwheel death valley driver. He rolls through a shooting star press, but a blind tag to Donavan causes a huge black hole slam for the win.

Winners: Swipe Right, Jackson Drake, and Bryce Donovan

Chuey Martinez is ringside with the winners, who gets mocked by Ricky Smokes. Once again, Chuey is less an interviewer and more trying to play to the crowd. However, we are saved by the appearance of Sean Legacy and Timothy Thatcher, what a duo! Back from commercial, Chantel Monroe is in the VIP area for the main event of…

Kali Armstrong vs. Dani Palmer

Quick back and forth from both women. Kali does go for a press slam, but it is countered by Paler. However Dani gores to the top and is slammed down by Armstrong. A huge slam from Kali and she is in full control as we go to commercial. Back from commercial and Armstrong has Palmer in a chinlock. Huge double cross body from both women in a huge collision. Palmer is able to fight back with some strength of her own. Dani with a middle rope Meteora for a close two. Massive powerslam from Kali gets her own two-count. Dani goes for a huge splash and misses, leading to Armstrong hitting the Kali Connection for the win.

Winner: Kali Armstrong

Kali is in the ring calling out the women’s locker room and saying she is going to be the first women’s champion. This gets the ire of Chantel Monroe, Kendall Grey, and Carlee Bright. The show ends as all the ladies argue.

Wow, what another great show from Evolve. More introductions from new faces, and an insane eight-man tag, and it seems like the Evolve women’s title is Kali Armstrong’s to lose. Can’t wait to see what is next. We will see next week,
