One Match, One Moment, One Promo:

January 23-26, 2026

It’s a busy time to be a wrestling fan! This past weekend was full of professional wrestling and Main Event Moments. We had our regular AAA pre-show Sabado Gigante mixer, and the second episode of the network’s newest show, The Dusty Finish.

Let’s round up a few headlines before we get into the week’s show, and then talk Saturday Night’s Main Event:

  • WWE 2K26 is right around the corner, and I’m so excited. As one of the two annual game series that I always buy, I’m keeping an eye on details of the new game. As of now, I’m really interested in Monday Night Wars edition (but I’m not excited about the rumored $150 price tag). I just hope they add more to the GM mode of the game.

  • WWE trademarked “Career Killer.” I have thoughts. We already had the Legend Killer, and I don’t like Gunther enough to give him the prestige to kill multiple people’s careers. I’d rather see legends go out with meaningful matches against someone that means a lot to their career.

  • Seth Rollins was on ESPN, and he was asked how he felt about returning at the Royal Rumble. He has said he’s not sure if he’ll be back then, but is that just a cover for a slip up that wasn’t supposed to be leaked?

Enough talk about the news, we’ve got a lot to cover in this one.

One Match

This week’s match is so much harder to choose from. However, I am going to have to give it to Punk vs. Styles. These two finally got to run in back in a WWE ring, and the surprise main event was incredible.

These two really went at it. I wasn’t expecting a clean win, so it doesn’t surprise me that Finn interfered in the match. We got a great match and more Finn on TV, so it’s a win all around.

One Moment

After all the trash talk in The Dusty Finish, Tozawa put on a hell of a show, and got the pinfall in the match. I love when Tozawa gets to actually showcase his talents, and he and Otis deserve to get a title shot after being on the bench more often than not lately.

One Promo

We’re finally getting Nattie in WWE! She’s been playing the hardass version of herself in GCW and AAA for a while now, but Natalya has finally shed her previous gimmick to put Maxxine and Becky both on notice.

I’ve been waiting for Nattie to appear; it’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Natalya, and I’m excited and hopeful that she gets a proper run in WWE as her tougher persona.

Honorable Mentions

  • Ilja Dragunov vs. Carmelo Hayes continues to be an incredible matchup. These two only know how to put on instant classics, and their matches are must watch every time they’re paired together.

  • The six-woman tag match had to have been one of the most attractive matches imaginable, but no one was shocked by the ending.

  • Finn Balor in general should be on this list. He deserves to a big part of the show week in and week out.

Saturday Night’s Main Event

  • Cody Rhodes and Jacon Fatu gave us the best opening imaginable for a SNME show. The two of them never actually started their match, but what we got was even better.

  • I didn’t expect Rhiyo to get a clean victory. I figured one of the other multitudes of tag challengers would end up coming out to stake a claim to the titled

  • AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura was an absolutely incredible match. Honestly, it should have main evented the night with how intense their matchup was. If this really is it for AJ, at least he’s putting on some banger matches before leaving.

  • I’m honestly shocked that Sami won the opportunity to face Drew at the Royal Rumble. I fully thought Damian Priest would be moving on to face Drew, while Zayn would go on to win the Rumble. In an ideal world, WWE would realize it needs more young stars, and Trick Willy would be headed towards his first main roster title.

That’s it for this week. Next week I’ll be back with thoughts on the Rumble. Make sure to reach out on Twitter if you ever want to trash talk the picks I made, or anything else.
