Alrighty y'all. Let's cut the tishllub and get straight to the point. Whilst taking a break from my responsibilities as a creative thinker and writer (KIDDING!), I noticed there has been alot being said about the current state of the Women's Division.

First, I gotta say the interwebs always got something to complain about. And that's not to bash anyone or disagree, cause I complain alot too.

It's in our nature.....and not cause I hate ya.

No one is ever happy with booking and alot of that can be attributed to what I believe to be three things, RAWs shift to Netflix, too many belts, and too many PLE style events.

WWE having to shift to Netflix caused a stir in the booking as certain plans had to be rushed to fill the card and it's PLE style build up. Same can be said for the recent Saturday Night Main Event episodes where only the storylines for said shows got priority booking. And adding SNME to the yearly calendars that are already stacked with 10 to 12 PLEs a year. It makes sense when trying to appeal to the two audiences on both Peacock/NBC and Netflix. Sometimes we as wrestling fans have to take the back seat to the fans that the Fed is currently attempting to win over. And SNMEs aren't a bad thing either, but if we're going to have those more often, perhaps it is best to have em take the spots of other PLEs that dont have as much hype as your Royal Rumbles or Elimination Chambers. SNME can serve as a show to advance storylines where not enough time is available even with almost 8 hours of weekly wrestling TV. Sometimes there is more with less. But that's another storee for another day.

Now hear me out, before you throw your handheld mechanism at me, in it's current state of booking, there are way too many belts in the women's division.

*ducks*

Look, I have nothing against new belts being thrown into the mix. But what I have seen since those belts have been introduced is exactly what I said would happen when said belts were first announced. The women's divisions are monstrously stacked on RAW, NXT, and SmackDown, each roster with more than enough talent to warrant a World Title and a Midcard Title for each brand, and a pair of tag belts to share between the three brands. But somehow, the writers have managed to book themselves into a corner with getting ready to build up to WrestleMania in Vegas.

In my honest opinion, these belts were introduced at the worst possible time. As discussed earlier, RAW to Netflix and SNME have played a factor with the booking and the sudden, swift shifts that came with it. And with not alot of time remaining til the show of shows, they still have not booked or announced any WrestleMania plans for the Women's IC, Women's US, and Women's Tag Team Championships.

But fret not for this is a cookout, and we came out to cook. I got my Main Event Wrestling Network apron on and rocking a fresh Four Loko chef hat, believe that pimpin'. Let's huddle around the grill and book ourselves out of this funk.

First Dish

NXT Women's Division

As of the writing of this storee, the NXT Women's Division has a total of 32 individual SuperStars. And that's including the addition of Jordynne Grace. NXT has never struggled with booking their championship matches, using weekly episodes to their advantage in a way the Fed can take notes from and incorporate into turning lesser PLEs into either a special edition of RAW/SD or replaced with SNME. And with all the talent the NXT Women's roster holds, I can honestly see at least 10 of those Superstars move on to RAW or SmackDown en route to or post WrestleMania. The remaining Superstars like Henley, Paxley, Jordan, Parker, Sinclar, Rizzo and Arianna Grace have been trained and guided to hold down the fort and will do so with ease. NXT has done a hell of a job booking their Women's belts in being able to separate the divisions from each other while continously building the Women's North American Championship's prestige and lineage.

And with so much talent they have also managed to build tag teams that have been more than capable of hanging with the women of the main roster. And with this new working relationship with TNA, it leaves the door open to even more variety in the Women's matches we will get on NXT TV. Maybe having NXT so separate from RAW and SD isn't such a bad thing considering they get to run with the ball more often and have the space necessary to keep their storylines away from the mix. And while they are not perfect, they are improving on a regular basis. So let em shine and let em cook. And throw some cheese on that!

Second Dish

Women's Tag Team Division

I see alot of negativity towards the Women's Tag Belts. Always have since day one. Hell, even more when Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey unified both sets of Women's Tag Team Championships (suck on it haters!)

Booking a Women's tag division should never be an issue in this day and age where those belts are now defended across all three brands. What hurts the division even more now is the release of recent talents that have cut certain teams a member short. And while some teams remain strong and in tact, not all are booked effectively. Carter and Chance had gotten some pretty decent booking when going up against Pure Fusion Collective, with other teams joining the fray bringing importance to the division. And with Jade Cargill soon to return, the booking will shift from the belts to who took Cargill out. Liv Morgan has inserted herself into the tag division with Raquel Rodriguez and brings the total of women's tag teams to 7, and that's not including Chelsea Green & Piper Niven and Nia Jax & Candice LaRae as the point here is to build separation and exclusivity between the divisions. The remaining teams can temporarily carry the division while new teams begin to form in NXT and the Smackdown and RAW undercards. Use the post WrestleMania booking to refresh the Women's tag team division will give teams a chance to build the division without the pressures of a looming WrestleMania.

Third Dish

Women's MidCard Titles (US, IC, and Speed)

Y'all wanted em. Y'all made your voices heard. Y'all got em. We now have a Women's Intercontinental Championship, a Women's United States Championship, and a Women's Speed Championship, yes it counts and you can't tell me otherwise so dont even try it.

Each belt was awarded to winners of tournaments to crown a midcard champion for Raw and SmackDown. Both effective tournaments that spanned through weeks of competition as women battled it out to be the first to have the honor of carrying these new belts. But what was once built with such importance has taken a back seat to bigger, more important events and storylines. It truly doesn't help matters to have Valkyria and Green lose Elimination Chamber qualifying matches, matches they didn't have to be in at this stage of their reigns. These belts are now suffering through the booking that the men's midcard titles went thru in previous eras where said belts weren't competed for in higher card matches. The rosters are overloaded with talent, and alot of talent that graduated from NXT may I add. These rosters have plenty of women to build the divisions around with not including the women competing for the main women's belts or the women's tag belts.

Both rosters with women who have plenty of experience on the camera, on the mic, and in the ring, it should be no problem to have either champion now or after go on a lengthy run plowing through the competition. Deadlock the divisions with 6 to 7 women each respectively, more than enough to book both belts in either a 6 Women Ladder Match or a 5 Women Championship Scramble. Hit the reset button after WrestleMania and dedicate certain parts of the show to either booking the champion or the competitors on the rise to face a champion. There are more than enough moving parts to keep the match variety fresh, and more than enough space to add a new face or two to the mix by way of NXT Call Ups. These belts are in their fresh beginnings in a time period where WrestleMania gets top booking across the board. A match at WrestleMania for each will surely add an aura that'll bring a brighter future to all involved.

Chef's Verdict: Overbooked

Fourth Dish

Women's Main Event Titles (WWE and World)

Here we are, Mami is on Top as Always and it's Tiffy Time over on Smackdown. Fan favorites Rhea Ripley and Tiffany Stratton currently carry the top prizes of their respective brands. Mami has reclaimed her championship from Liv Morgan and Tiffany Stratton ended what has been Nia Jax's best reign as Women's Champion to date, singles or tag. The top of each of division is packed to the roof and everyone else is trying to find a way in. Charlotte Flair has used her Royal Rumble victory to challenge Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania. And while Charlotte Flair can easily be penciled in as the favorite, dont be surprised if Tiffany Stratton wins the match and a furious Charlotte Flair goes on to wreck havoc in the US Title Division.

The World Championship will either be Rhea Ripley or Iyo Sky against the winner of the Women's Elimination Chamber match.

There are many ways the Fed can go about this, i dont feel like doing the math but we'll say there's 12 different match possibilities. But then you need to consider they have booked three competitors that are currently involved in the women's tag scene, and also having both tag champions as competitors. Does Jade Cargill get involved somehow? And that's not to say Bianca and Naomi dont deserve these spots, they've beaten every team that's been thrown at em. Does Jade Cargill get her belt back? Do we re-establish the Free Bird rule so all three can rule together? Roxanne Perez enters in what will be her biggest test to date and will surely turn some heads in the process. But where does Perez go from here if she doesn't win? Maybe we get Bayley vs Perez at WrestleMania. I for one would love for Nia Jax to steal someone's spot in the Chamber match and squash a foe or two in the process of keeping herself involved at the top of the card, even without the championship.

This Elimination Chamber match will play a pivotal role in where the Women's main card goes from here. Not only establishing WrestleMania matches, but feuds that'll carry on into the new season of competition. Establishing a core 6 in each division will work wonders for both brands. The Fed has figured out how to keep people relevant without booking them into oblivion in the ring week in and week out. With a strict divide for each individual title, the weekly television can still remain interesting with balancing who gets mic time and who gets ring time while building up the purpose of their encounters. There is plenty of time to give them all enough time to shine, it's just a matter of knowing when to slow the booking and give the storees a chance to marinate, breathe, and pan out. Dont get it twisted, I fully endorse everything this current crop of talent is doing to fight for their spots. This is the New Women's Revolution and we are all witnesses to it. This is what we all wanted. You just gotta open your eyes to it.
