Wait, what the hell is this?
Nah nah you are NOT seeing things!
It is what it is and things cant be like they was before Rick. And with that, I say it is time, oh yes it's true. It's time The Great Brown Hope gave LA Knight his flowers. It is time to let Raider of the Lost Ark Knight get his shine on up in here.
You heard that right, LA Knight is getting invited to The Great Carne Asada. Yeah-ah...? Did I do that right?
Welp. Congratulations. Yall did it, you bulls went on parade for your boy LA Knight and got what yall wanted. Yall happy now?
Confused and wondering what exactly I am referring to? I aint gonna say LouisiAna Knight won his first WWE Championship cause that wouldn't be true now would it? That's right, this is not LA Knight's first reign with gold. Whether you wanna admit it or not, LA Knight is a former Million Dollar Champion and I will not let that go unacknowledged as LAK and Cameron Grimes went to war over it. See, im not even an LA Knight fan and I know more than you!
On here we show everyone love, except Rey Mysterio, so know that is not a shot at Lake Arrowhead Knight. LA Knight's climb to the top has surely been slow and steady, but I can tell yall he got his moment at the perfect time and at the peak of his evergrowing popularity. Can it get any bigger than this? She asked, not me.
And it's been such a rollercoaster so I tip my hat off to ALL you LA Knighties for sticking it through and continuing to push the powers that be to give yalls hero his chance to run with the ball. But where exactly do we go from here?
Now that Little Arkansas Knight is WWE United States Heavyweight Champion, it's time to either put up or shut up. He best be out there defending the belt every single week for all the smack he talked in that feud with Logan Paul. There is so much happening on Smackdown that it might be easy to get lost in the shuffle the same way Logan wasn't defending as often. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. You see, and I can see, that Knight is over as fack and there is no slowing his momentum. And instead of feeding him established heels or babyfaces, there is a better way to continue building on his popularity and give prestige to his reign.
How do we do that?
Have LA Knight bring back the US Open Challenge. You do that, and it opens the doors to not only championship matches against his foes he is feuding with, but it also opens the door to anyone to come out and put on a show with Knight without hurting either's momentum. Maybe even somebody from NXT can step up to the plate. Or maybe even someone who once held a weekly US Open Challenge.
There is only one way to go from here, and that's right to it.
LET'S GET TO IT YALL!!
BROWN'S FIVE AT 5
VOLUME 2 / ISSUE 6
FIVE MATCHES FOR LA KNIGHT'S US OPEN CHALLENGE
5. SHINSUKE NAKAMURA
Oh yes, we are bringing out the heavy hitters for this one. Knight's reign will need to be put to the test and right off the bat Shinsuke Nakamura comes out to answer the challenge mere seconds after Knight makes the announcement. Nakamura is an established competitor that has made a name for himself on a world wide scale. A hero of his country, Nakamura has carried more WWE gold than Knight and will always be a worthy challenger to any championship on any brand. Another US Title reign would be great for Nakamura, but a win for Knight would do alot more. Knight walks away with the victory and a hell of a first defense against a dangerous veteran that can strike at any moment. Surely a main event worthy matchup on Friday Night Smackdown. With defeating a former World champion, any doubts of Knight as champion would quickly cease to exist.
4. SANTOS ESCOBAR
This one's an easy one. Considering the fact that these two are already feuding with each other, why not have em put on two or three bouts against each other for the US Championship? Escobar has shown he is no half way crook and holds his ground against Not From LA Knight every time they meet in a war of words or a battle of fists. Another slow brewer that has been in the tank in the background of the bigger picture, this beef can be spiced up and taken to the next level with the snap of a finger(sit your ass down Thanos). While Knight has Smackdown victories over Escobar, it has done nothing to hurt Escobar's aura as the mean, lucha gangsta overlord of the Smackdown brand. Escobar answers Knight's Open Challenge but gets disqualified on account of himself and his goons Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza giving Knight a good ol' fashioned varrio beatdown. Escobar pins Knight clean in a non-title match to set up a third encounter for say maybe...Bad Blood? Knight defeats Escobar and Knight walks away standing tall over his first championship feud. Orale ese vato.
3. CARMELO HAYES
When Melo shoots, he dont miss. We all know this. Your stepmother knows this! And Melo has fired plenty of shots at Knight since arriving on Smackdown. Melo and Knight both come from an NXT2.0 class of graduates that have all managed to find their spot on the bigger brands. And with the same transition of the previous NXT classes taking over the main rosters, this newer class is transitioning to the same. And at the head of that class is talent like LA Knight, Bron Breakker, Ilja Dragunov, and Carmelo Hayes, all proven stars that still have their best years coming. And now Melo has his chance to compete for Smackdown gold in a feud with Knight. Melo answers Knight's Open Challenge but refuses to wrestle a title match without time to prepare and strategize as he feels he needs to take days to do practice shots in the gym to keep his perfect field goal percentage in tact. And for the cheap heat, he even says he isn't gonna wrestle in *insert city Smackdown is live in that night*. A Premium Live Event bout is booked and given a higher slot on the card to add to the hype of this encounter. We have had our Austins vs HHHs and Rocks vs Cenas and Romans vs Brays. These two guys got next. And they'll put on a show so everyone knows it. Of course we need Knight to walk away with the victory. But not without raising Melo's hand as well after the match as a sign of respect. Even in defeat, Melo doesnt lose, he just didnt win.
2. JOHN CENA, DOCTOR OF THUGANOMICS
Who better to answer Knight's Open Challenge than the Doctor of Thuganomics? I need this one yall. We all do. And with Cena embarking on his retirement tour, it'll throw a crowd into a rukus once the music hits and we all hear "So....you think you're untouchable?". The Doctor of Thuganomics makes his way down and he's carrying his classic US Title spinner belt from all those years ago. Knight isnt sure whether to be excited or shocked. Before Knight can say anything, Cena instantly throws a rap down. Cena starts dissing Knight about stealing his Open Challenge and calling him a bootleg Dragon Ball Z fusion power version of Stone Cold and The Rock. This crowd doesn't know if they should boo or cheer, or who to root for. What's important is the magic is there, and the US Title spinner belt is a symbol for the passing of the torch from one hero to another. Should this match go down on Smackdown, prepare for the highest rated episode of the show. A main event for the ages, Cena will help move Knight into a higher class of Superstars, further establishing his place on the roster and in the halls of wrestling history. Knight overcomes his toughest challenge, now a tested main eventer that can fill any main event slot at any given time. Word life.
1. JOE HENDRY
WHO SAID HIS NAME?
Oh yeah, I did. That's right. Top spot honors for this one go to another talent with a buzz that rivals Knight's. Both are arguably the biggest favorites of the IWC at the moment and it's not hard to see why. Joe Hendry has been blowing the roof off at NXT events and shows no signs of slowing down. Hell, the only person Hendry has left to win over is Booker T!
Hendry is a certified Superstar that continues to work both NXT and TNA on a consistent basis. Wont be long til he gets to call to appear on RAW or Smackdown. Oh, and did I mention Knight and Hendry have a historee against each other?
Check that one out when you get the chance.
With Knight hosting a US Title Open Challenge, we have the perfect way to bring in Joe Hendry to the blue brand without some draft or signing angle. A feud between the two over the belt could be the only match booked for one of the smaller PLEs and make it a guaranteed sell out. Two not so distant future main event superstars testing the waters of babyface vs babyface encounters. A situation in which everyone wins, except maybe Booker T. You get all eyes on a product that has been more consistent with appealing to what the fans want from their wrestling television. And while Not From LA Knight's reign was one for the books, Joe Hendry would be the only other opponent that seems fit to take his crown. Knight passes the torch to Hendry so Knight can focus on capturing a Heavyweight championship now that he has proven he can beat the likes of John Cena. And as long as his fanbase remains loyal to his cause, there is no telling how high LA Knight can truly go.
This doesn't mean im an LA Knight fan, im just giving the guy his flowers!
