One Match, One Moment, One Promo:

April 17-20, 2026

WrestleMania is officially in the books, and I finally finished it (and watched Raw) on Tuesday night. Night 2 was definitely head and shoulders above Night 1, but I’ll get into that more after our regularly scheduled programming.

I’m not gonna get into any news this week, so let’s just jump right into the weekly shows.

One Match

Raw after WrestleMania gave us one of my most anticipated moments in WWE. Sol Ruca has finally been called up, and she went from the midcard of NXT straight into a match with The Greatest Women’s World Champion of aallllllll time.

Liv Morgan and Sol Ruca got nearly double the time that Liv and Stephanie had, and Sol Ruca definitely impressed in her official debut. Sol Ruca countering the ObLIVion was really cool to see, and hitting the Sol Snatcher was fantastic. What’s absolutely wild is that I don’t think either was at the top of their game for this match, meaning it could have been even better.

One Moment

It’s hard to pick a moment from SmackDown and Raw, but this is sort of an important one.

Rhea Ripley won the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania and wrestled the next day. In this new era, it seems the champions are overprotected and hardly ever actually in the ring. Rhea hardly took a day before she was back in action, tagging with Iyo Sky against the Kabuki Warriors.

One Promo

Some people can talk in wrestling. Some people can spend ten to fifteen minutes on the mic, with nothing special surrounding them; just the superstar and a microphone. They can weave elaborate tales and turn WWE into a full-on soap opera. And that’s something I enjoy.

Jacob Fatu said forget all that, I’m gonna lean into the image Drew Mcintyre wants to create around me. He arrived via police car and gave one of his signature promos. He doesn’t need a lot of time; he doesn’t have to use a lot of words. Fatu just has it.

WrestleMania

There’s SO MUCH that happened, so I’m going to keep it brief and just do a few thoughts from both nights.

I feel like I can summarize most of both nights with one word: ads. So many fucking ads. Night 1 especially was so rushed and there was hardly any time for the matches. What the fuck?!

The Women’s Tag match should have been incredible. Every team had so much to bring to the table and we got Paige back in WWE. I do still wish Bayley and Lyra had won, but I am never going to complain about Paige being back and holding gold.

Becky Lynch got the IC title back, and I didn’t think I’d be happy as I was about it. I wish the match was longer…

Why the fuck did we get Seth and Gunther again? That match was almost as bad as having LA Knight on the card.

LIV WON! I’m so happy that Liv won.

Cody Rhodes got absolutely wrecked by Randy, and I’m surprised but so glad that he retained. It wasn’t a bad match, but still felt rushed after Cody’s last few epic length Mania matches. I know Travis Scott’s entrance added an extra half hour to his Cena match last year, but even without that it felt longer.

Oba Femi. Brock Lesnar. What a match.

The ladder match was crazy but man I wish Je’Von (or even JD) had won.

WHOOP THAT TRICK! WHOOP THAT TRICK!

Honorable Mentions

Rhea and Iyo said goodbye to each other. Again. How long can they actually be kept apart?

Finn Balor has his aura back. I’m still torn on him beating Dominik, but I guess they’re not done with each other yet so I’ll let it play out. I’d love to see both Dom and Finn in the main event picture, but I don’t know which will be getting into that level.

That’s all I want to talk about. I know there’s more, I know there’s other big matches, but we’ll leave that alone for now. Find me on Twitter if you want to know more.

Until next week.
