One Match, One Moment, One Promo:
December 26, 2025

Happy New Year! I’ve got one last blog for all y’all before we switch to 2026. Thank you for taking time out of your Stranger Things finale day schedule to read this. We had a hell of an end to the year in WWE, and I’m excited to break it down for you.
Dominik Mysterio is out “indefinitely.” Thanks a fucking lot, Rey Mysterio. And Penta magically reappeared right after Rey took his spot in AAA…I’m not saying WWE faked Penta’s injury to get Rey on the card…
Chad Gable is on his way back. I really don’t want to see him reinserted into the Americano storyline. I know that’s where he left off, but the character has changed and gotten so much more over in Mexico. We don’t need an Americano civil war where Gable wants the mask back.
Enough about the end-of-year news. Let’s get into the last shows of 2025.
One Match
What else could truly take this spot? The Usos are arguably the best tag team in history. After Jey’s singles frustrations, he goes back to show that he shines with his brother. The Usos feel like they were never split apart with how much chemistry they have effortlessly.
I’m hoping this leads directly into a feud with The New Day. The Raw tag division is back on track with this win, and I can’t wait to see a bigger emphasis on tag teams than we’ve had the last couple years.
One Moment
Carmelo Hayes won the United States Championship. Yes, it finally happened. I have been praying for this since the moment Carmelo was called up to SmackDown. The Number One draft pick has been Him for years, and the main roster finally sees it.

And not only did he finally take the title, but it went directly into his first feud. Johnny Gargano jumped him backstage saying he ruined everything. I’m assuming Gargano is another wrestler I have been high on for years, so I’m excited to see him mixing it up with the new champ.
One Promo
Trick Williams is pitching himself to the main roster brands, and he was already backstage stepping up to Cody Rhodes.
Trick definitely needed the extra time in NXT to develop his in-ring work, but he is gold on the mic. He already got a huge pop back during one of Melo’s first SmackDown appearances, and I knew it was only a matter of time before he would be taking the main roster by storm. I really hope the crowd’s hype around his entrance follows him to whichever brand he ends up on. He could rival Jey Uso with the crowd interactions if they build him properly.
Honorable Mentions
Liv Morgan petting Roxanne Perez after Raquel walked away from the two of them would have been the moment if Melo hadn’t won the title this week. Especially when it transitioned from that scene to Nikki Bella’s entrance…what a sequence.
Bron Breakker and CM Punk killed their promos back and forth. I’m really looking forward to their title match. Bron is improving at an incredible rate on the mic.
Cody and Drew setting up a Three Stages of Hell match has me so hype! Aggressive Cody is incredibly attractive and fun to watch. Him and Drew are really bringing out the best in each other and it’s another match I can’t wait for.
That’s it everyone. I can’t wait for more wrestling in 2026, and I’ll be here every week to give my thoughts. I’m always ready and willing to talk WWE, so be sure to follow me on Twitter @darkstarshady and feel free to share your thoughts.
