(TGBH) What’s cracking mafackas! It’s WrestleMania week, and we got a week’s worth of content, and so does the rest of the Main Event Wrestling Network. We are kicking off a week’s worth of blogs with our picks for WrestleMania Night 1! Let me just shine the bWo signal into the night and assemble the rest of our goon squad.

(PCM) Not gonna lie, this is gonna be big not only for MEWN but for bWo. Outside of our Memorial Day marathons, this might be our busiest time. Multiple vids, multiple streams, hell, we have multiple blogs from everyone. After all, WrestleMania is the Starrcade of wrestling.

(DSS) It’s the greatest time of year! WrestleMania is here again, and it’s time for the best of the best to be on the grandest stage of them all. Or rather, that’s what we’re supposed to be getting…but I’ll get more into that shortly. Either way, we’re in for two big nights of wrestlin,g and Night 1 is going to set the tone. I can’t wait until I get off work that day to start watching.

(IG) Talk about being thrown into the fire for my bWo introduction… It’s officially Mania week!  Even with the build that this year’s show has had thus far, it still feels like a national holiday for all of us Marks.  Let’s ride!

(TGBH) It’s the big time, and it’s so much larger than life. It’s our way or the highway. There are voices in the air, and we hear em loud and clear. Let’s get to it y'all!

PreGame w/bWo:

Wrestlemania 42 / Night 1

LA Knight and The Usos vs. The Vision and iShowspeed

(DSS) Here we fucking go. We swapped the tag titles to what’s left of The Vision, just to not have a title match at Mania. Instead, we’ve got someone who doesn’t need to be featured on the show added to the match and iShowspeed. The Vision hasn’t been seen in 20/20 for a while now, with the original members all out with injury, so they had to call in a second YouTube megastar to bolster their numbers. Meanwhile, The Usos couldn’t find anyone better than that washed-up Max Dupri to help them in the ring. The Usos will be lucky to get out unhurt with the lack of support they’ll have, while Theory and Paul will be showing that it’s time for another new era in WWE. No way The Vision took the titles right before Mania just to lose their match. I wouldn’t be surprised if it's Crashout Jey that costs Jimmy and Louisiana Knight the match. I think Knight already knows that he won’t be getting gold again in the WWE, so matches like this are as close to a title as he’ll get.

(TGBH) The fans wanted Lake Arkansas Knight; they got him. Y'all can buy out his shirt, but look what happened to Zack Ryder during his first run when he got over on his own. Except idk if you can compare Lake Arrowhead Knight to a bonafide legend like the Long Island Iced Z. The Usos are gonna Uso, and because people don't appreciate their greatness enough, like the NEW New Day, they are getting them here to put over the new version of Ryback and Curtis Axel. I’ll probably stay in the kitchen making burgers for this one.

Drew McIntyre vs. Jacob Fatu

(PCM) I like this idea. These guys wanna brawl, let them brawl. Throw the rule book out. Let them go. This could have been the prime ‘slapping meat’ match if not for night two. Who to pick, though? Drew hasn’t really gotten his due respect since he won the pandemic world title. Will we ever find out who put Jacob on the shelf? I think Drew will win in one hell of a brawl.

(IG) I love everything that they are doing with this feud.  This feud has “veteran getting the future of the company over” written all over it to me.  And that’s not even a bad thing for Drew in my opinion.  I think Drew winning the title again is in the rearview mirror.  It’s time to help out Fatu, as he continues to build his WWE resume.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship

Fatal 4-Way Match

The Irresistible Forces(c) vs. The Bellas vs. Alexa Bliss and Charlotte vs. Bayley and Lyra Valkyria

(IG) I’ll be honest, this is one of those matches that I really couldn’t be asked about.  And I LOVE Bayley and Lyra as a tag team.  I think they are equally entertaining, as well as consistently have fantastic matches.  It’s the competitors I don’t really care for.  If I’m a betting man (which I can be on occasion), I put my money on Bayley and Lyra.  It’s a perfect redemption arc for Bayley missing out on her opportunity for tag gold last year.  Plus? I get to see Bird Lady with some more gold.

(DSS) This match could go any which way, but I absolutely need Bayley and Lyra to come out with gold. The last time around, Bayley got pushed out of her tag opportunity, and Lyra became a tag champ, only to lose the belt at the very first opportunity thanks to The Man. This time around, I want to see Bayley and Lyra actually have their match together and actually get the win. Bayley is one of the greatest of all time and deserves to be rewarded for being the superstar that she is, while Lyra needs to get back on track. Lyra has all the makings of a future pillar of the industry, and she doesn’t deserve the cool-down she’s been going through since the Becky Stompers promo. The Irresistible Forces have done their part to put Lash on Nia’s level; I love Charlexa, but they don’t need another run—yet. And if I’m being real, I don’t even know why the Bellas are here.

Bayley and Lyra via Pinfall

Bayley and Lyra via Pinfall

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship

AJ Lee(c) vs. Becky Lynch

(PCM) Not gonna lie, this match has sort of lost its luster. We already had this title match earlier this year. If this is going to be the blow-off match, let their first time in a one-on-one match be here. We already saw this just a couple of months ago. This is the law of diminishing returns. Is this match going to be great? Of course it is. But what are we going to see that we have not already seen? Let AJ win this and defend it against a bunch of fresh faces.

(TGBH) I’ve seen a lot of people say AJ Lee isn't as big a deal as people made her out to be. That’s because you weren’t looking at the impact she made outside of the ring. AJ Lee is one of those names you’ll hear some of today’s talents, male or female, say when asked who inspired them. Becky Lynch, she’s up there too, and that’s not just me saying it. Two big-time names have helped elevate this title a little more after it spent some time being overlooked and underbooked. AJ Lee gets a big win here at WrestleMania and drops the belt the next night to a debuting Jacy Jayne.

Seth Rollins vs. Gunther

(TGBH) Remember when Walter came out and interrupted Seth’s promo all those years ago? That match woulda been money then. Now, not so much. I wanted Gunther to retire Rey Mysterio, but we can’t always get what we want, can we? Hey, I'm just saying, it was mighty convenient for Rey Mysterio to be back from injury the week after this match was announced. The Gunther experiment continues; whether or not he retires Seth on this night won't derail him from retiring Brock Lesnar. Seth chokes out Gunther, so no one can say Gunther tapped like John Cena.

(IG) A little peek behind the curtain here… I haven’t even looked at what The Great Brown Hope has said, but I already know he’s mad that Gunther won’t be retiring Rey Mysterio at Mania… Anyways, I would agree with him!  This build up has been weird to say the least.  I’m sure this is the beginning of a long story to be told with Gunther and Paul Heyman’s relationship.  But, shouldn’t Mania be the conclusion of feuds between your biggest stars?  I don’t see how Gunther can lose this match in my opinion.  If the rumors of Summerslam are true for Gunther, he can’t lose going into his match with Lesnar.  But then again, where does that leave the Vision storyline…

The Great Brown Hope’s Pick:

Seth Rollins via Knockout

Ian G’s Pick:

Gunther via Knockout

PaperClip Mike’s Pick:

Gunther via submission

Darkstar Shady’s Pick:

Seth Rollins via Pinfall

WWE Women’s World Championship

Stephanie Vaquer(c) vs. Liv Morgan

(PCM)This will easily be the best women’s world title match this weekend. Stephanie has easily been the best female NXT call-up in a long time. Liv herself has grown to be up there as well. I don't see much JD help, as it seems that the stable is about to end. Stephanie has done amazing things for the division, and I think it is time for her to drop the belt as she leaves it better than when she got there.

(DSS) This is the match I’m most excited for from the whole weekend. Liv and Stephanie have been putting in some good work to make this feud personal and vicious. Liv has definitely brought out the best we’ve seen of Stephanie Vaquer since she left NXT, but it’s time for her to drop the gold. Liv Morgan might be the greatest character in all of WWE, and her talent in the ring is only continuing to grow. I’m excited to see Liv get a big win at Mania and watch the rest of the Judgment Day’s story unfold. Liv and Big Sexy Raquel Rodriguez are gonna be the best feud once it gets going, with the potential to outshine Liv and Stephanie.

Undisputed WWE Championship

Cody Rhodes(c) vs. Randy Orton

(TGBH) Welp, this is ONE way to flush a title match down the toilet. Yes, I have heard the arguments and the reasoning, but you gotta admit this is wack. The Defenders of the Fed are having a hard time with this one. Honestly, they could have just kept Pat a secret 'til the night of Mania, 'cause now they’ve spun this overpriced ticket thang into something that benefits the talent’s stock. It’s a mess. Rhodes vs. Orton has enough history. Kingston ran through Orton to bring credibility to his title reign and closure to their previous rivalry. The same could have been done here, and that would have been enough to sell this match. Hell, you could have had Orton set one of Cody’s many estates ablaze to add some stew to the pot. But no. Out of all the options, this is what they went with. So many games to choose from, and they chose to play us.

(PCM) I am a huge fan of Pat, but this ain’t it. His involvement makes absolutely no sense from any angle. This is up there with VKM being the higher power. Why? You have a story that writes itself in Randy and Cody, but added stuff because someone not even in the company allegedly said so? If all the parties get involved, this could be as bad as Travis Scott last year. This will be a good match if they stay out of it, which they won't. I do think Randy wins this. Let him get one more good reign out of it and let Cody go do press for Street Fighter.

(DSS) Now here’s a match I was really fucking hyped for up until Jelly Roll and bum ass Pat McAfee got involved. There’s absolutely no fucking reason for either of them to be a part of this feud when Cody and Randy have a damn near 20-year build to this matchup. Cody and Randy are both incredible in the ring, and I think Cody actually has an edge over Randy if he can keep the speed of the match going. But as soon as Pat said he’d leave the company forever if Randy loses means Randy is 100% winning. It’s unfortunate because, as a Cody Crybaby, I do not want to see someone take the title away, and I really want Pat McAfee to go away. It is what it is, and we’re going to have to suffer through Randy and Pat’s celebration after Mania.

(IG) For those that know me, I for one love Pat McAfee.  And, his promos have done a great job at dragging me back in.  And yes, this dude is a natural story teller in the wrestling industry (fight me).  But this feud did not need him involved.  Everything about the story between Cody and Randy was perfect. They could have played more into their relationship outside of the ring to really hit home.  But no.  We had to get involvement.  Whatever, were here now.  We’ll at least get to see Randy Orton become a world champion again.
